What is your pastor’s role? What does the Bible say it should be? We often assume the answers to these questions, but they deserve careful reflection—and not just by pastors. As everyday Christians, it helps us to have a clear vision of how God wants His leaders to lead. Why? So that we might better follow as He wants us to follow. Every pastor has three key areas in which he functions: he prepares himself as a person, he presents a certain profile to his congregation, and he serves God’s people out of certain priorities. A closer look at these three areas will make your pastor’s role all the more clear as you seek to follow Christ as He would have you.
