Some Christians are stuck in abusive churches. Without knowing it, these believers are being robbed of a healthy, joyful relationship with God because of rigid rules, tight regulations, and imposed rituals. Put bluntly, that’s abusive leadership. Those who lead these churches may appear to provide the scent and feel of God, but their leadership lacks the authentic touch and presence of God. Our churches must avoid such practices and leaders, instead focusing on grace in our relationships.
