A church's vision is not determined by the size of its congregation or even by the size of the city in which it is located...but rather by the size of its God. When magnificent opportunities are opened before a church with a magnificent, awesome God, the possibilities are unlimited!
The church in the ancient city of Philadelphia is a classic example of this principle. Even though it was the youngest of the seven churches and, quite likely, the smallest in size, this church received nothing but commendation from Christ in His evaluation. It is enlightening for us to connect the dots in the Lord's analysis as we learn what it was that led Him to give the church such high marks without one word of criticism and why that same evaluation is possible today, even in a 21st-century church.
