Paul and Titus ministered side-by-side until the apostle dispatched his young protégé for a difficult task in a difficult place. Knowing that Titus had nobody to bolster his faith when he felt low or to encourage him when he was criticized, Paul wrote a short but significant letter to fill that need.
Though they were separated by many miles, both men shared the same cause. And though separated from Paul and Titus by two thousand years, we, too, are summoned to live out our identity in Christ and fulfil our personal calling to make disciples of Christ.
