Essentially, God created us with two parts. One is the invisible, inner part made up of the soul and the spirit, and that part is eternal. We receive ti at the time of conception, and it is the seat of our personality. The second part is our body, the tangible outer shell of skin and bones that houses our soul and spirit. Death takes place when the soul and spirit separate from the body.
