Esther, a beautiful, young Jewish woman, eventually became the queen of Persia—a decision that would later preserve the destiny of the Jewish race. Woven through the book that bears her name are many of the qualities that caused Esther to stand out and find “favour in the eyes of all who saw her” (Esther 2:15). Such a rare blend of beauty, strength, and dignity! These qualities still hold our interest today, for now, as then, they cause a watching world to stand up and take notice. All women can be encouraged to follow Esther's example . . . for these qualities are not unique to that one lovely woman.
