We’re engaged in our own dig these days, searching for some of the secrets, some of the treasures of intimacy with God. We’re guarding ourselves against being jaded by familiar verses that we have looked at, many of us, since childhood. We’re watching our hearts carefully. We’re probing. We’re digging through the rocks and the boulders, if you will, and we’re going to the hard work of looking again into places where perhaps many others would say, “It’s all been found. You’ve already seen what’s there.” But we would have to admit, many of us, in all of our searching, alas, we have not become progressively more intimately acquainted with Him.
It all starts, as we saw last time, with reordering our lives. And just like a dig, that isn’t easy. It’s hard work to simplify, but it is well worth the effort.
