Whose Slave Are You? single message
This message is part 15 of the series Insights on Romans: The Christian's Constitution, Volume 1.
The sixth chapter of Romans includes two questions that look alike, but they are not. In fact, each is directed to a different kind of individual.
First: “Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase” (Romans 6:1)?
This question is directed to those who fail to claim their liberty and go on living like slaves. Such a lifestyle nullifies grace, suggesting there are no benefits derived from being liberated from sin’s power.
Second: “Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace” (6:15)?
This question is directed to those who take their liberty too far and miss the whole point of grace. Such a lifestyle abuses grace, suggesting that there are no restraints with grace.
