Being Misunderstood, single message

This message is part 4 of the series The Underside of Greatness.

Emerson wrote, “To be great is to be misunderstood.” We will all be misunderstood at some point in our lives. It's those times when we are virtually innocent but considered at fault and blamed. We do what is right for the right motive and purpose and we’re misjudged, and, in fact, may even be attacked.

We can learn a lot from Jesus' example in March 3. Talk about someone who really understood misunderstanding. His origin was misunderstood. He lived in the minds of His critics as an illegitimate. His birth was misunderstood. His objectives were misunderstood. His own Twelve misunderstood Him when He talked about leaving them and dying for them. One of them pulled Him aside and rebuked Him. Jesus endured misunderstanding and endured it well.
